Targets to Reach

Training has been going well in Brighton and Horsham. I have also had some very important sessions Dan Pfaff, Great Britain coach, in Lea Valley. My high jump has improved jumping over 2meter in the BAL meeting after one session with him!. On another occasion, I had a javelin session with Goldie Sayer which was great.

My running has also improved with PB’s in 400m (47.7) and 110 hurdles (15.2). This year, I have run every important 400m race (6 in total) under 48 seconds. Considering I only managed this once last year, it shows that all the hard training is paying off. My next target is to get into the 46 seconds in 400m and under 15 seconds in the 110m hurdles. I just cannot wait to be able to compete in good sunny weather. Just about every competition I have entered has either been winding, raining or both especially in Bedford!

Although I am still not happy with my pole vaulting, I jumped 4.30, a new PB, in Kingston. Still there is a long way to go in my development year with technical changes in discus and javelin. Very frustrating having to step back but in the long term it will be improve my distances.

I ran my first ever 400m Hurdles race in Kingston. I won the race in a time of 53.6. Really enjoyed it although technically there is still room for improvement. I am definitely going to race again probably in the next BAL meeting in Gateshead and run under 53 seconds.

Before that, I will be travelling to Belguim with Chris and Steph to run the 400m. It is going to be a great experience and I am hoping to improve my PB running against sub 46 second runners.

Still looking for sponsors - travelling expenses and petrol is now so expensive!!!
