Good Start To Season

After 3 weeks in Spain with Camp King, the season started at the Loughborough International.  The warm weather training went very well, running my best times ever so I was really looking forward to running a competitive race on my return. Loughborough was the ideal competition with top athletes participating. I came second but on the positive side, I ran a PB of 50.14 which was the 3rd fastest time on the day out of 30 competitors. Beating some top athletes was also a bonus but the season has just begun and there is a long way to go!

Last weekend, I was off to Portugal to compete for Shaftsbury Barnet at the European Champions Club Cup. We competed against the champions of France, Russia, Spain, Italy, Denmark, Turkey and Portugal. Great team spirit eventhough the squad came 5th against some though European teams. We cannot wait to get back to competing in the BAL league. After our experience in Portugal, we are determine to come top again and travel next year! I was happy with my performance winning my race in 50.3. Although I was hoping to get under the 50 second mark, running in lane one with the though head wind did not make it easy so I should not be too disappointed.
Lane one - sharp corners!!

So far I am ranked 3 in the UK, 4th in Europe and 2nd Under 23 in Europe. But like I said above, long way to go!!

My next adventure outside UK will be in France, Russia and hopefully the most important, Helsinki for the European Under 23 Champs. Cannot wait for Bedford!
